Presentation and Handover of the Academic Paper and Draft Local Regulation of Magetan Regency: A Result of the Collaboration Between the Faculty of Law, UGM, and the Magetan Regency BPKPD

The Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), through its Partnership and Development Unit (PDU), in collaboration with the Magetan Regency Financial and Regional Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD), held a presentation of results and handover of the academic paper and draft regional regulation (Raperda) of Magetan Regency regarding amendments to Magetan Regency Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2021 on the Management of Regional Assets. The event took place in Room 4.1.1 of the UGM Faculty of Law on Friday (September 26, 2025). This activity is part of a strategic collaboration between academic institutions and local governments to promote the formulation of regulations based on scientific research and legal certainty.

The event was attended by a team of academics from the UGM Faculty of Law, namely Dr. Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL. M., a lecturer in State Administrative Law at the UGM Faculty of Law, Dwi Haryati, S.H., M.H., and a lecturer in State Administrative Law at the UGM Faculty of Law, Rizky Septiana Widyaningtyas, S.H., M.Kn.

In their presentation, the UGM Faculty of Law team explained the philosophical, legal, and sociological foundations underlying the regulatory changes regarding the management of regional assets. Emphasis was placed on the urgency of adjusting regional policies to make them more responsive to the dynamics of effective and efficient public asset management. Following a brief discussion and Q&A session, a symbolic signing and handover ceremony took place for the Academic Paper and the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda), conducted by representatives of the UGM Faculty of Law to the Magetan Regency BPKPD, witnessed by all event participants.

The drafting and handover of the Academic Paper and the Draft Regional Regulation also support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, this activity aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by strengthening the governance of public assets to ensure transparency, accountability, and a foundation in scientific research. Second, the involvement of academics in the regional legislative process aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, as it utilizes research findings and scientific studies to produce public policies that are more relevant and adaptive. Furthermore, the collaboration between the UGM Faculty of Law and the Magetan Regency Government reflects the implementation of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening multistakeholder synergies to promote better and more sustainable governance.
