Two students from the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), Chikita Handriana and Muhammad Razaq, achieved an outstanding accomplishment by winning second place in their respective categories at the 2024 Pangdam IV/Diponegoro Open National Karate Championship. This prestigious event took place at Gor Patriot, located in Banyumanik, Semarang, Central Java, from November 22 to 24, 2024.
Chikita Handriana (2022) competed in the Women’s Senior Kumite -55 kg category. Meanwhile, Muhammad Razaq (2024) is participating in the Men’s U21 Kumite -61 kg category. Both are members of the UGM Inkai Karate Club, under the guidance of their coach, Prof. Dr. Satyawan Pudyatmoko, S.Hut., M.Agr.Sc.
The journey to this achievement was not an easy one. Chikita and Razaq faced stiff competition in every round of the competition. Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the rigorous training program provided by the UGM Inkai Karate Club. Support from various parties, including the UGM Faculty of Law, the UGM Inkai Karate Club, and DITMAWA UGM, played a crucial role in their preparation.
