When FPPH PALAPA opened registration for the 2019 Diponegoro Law Fair Scientific Writing Competition on June 28, 2019, Ni Nengah Dhea Riska Putri Nandita (Dhea), Kerin Dharmawan (Kerin), and I Gusti Ayu Dewi Sawitri (Dewi) formed a team and registered for the competition. After going through the selection process, they were selected to represent the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM). They worked on their paper until September 2, 2019. Over the course of approximately two months, they conducted extensive research, both independently in libraries and through consultations with FH UGM lecturers, including Rafael, Ricardo, Prof. Nurhasan, and their faculty advisor, Sartika, who provided valuable guidance throughout the writing process. They also conducted research at several land offices in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and outside the region to support their paper, entitled “Gradual Phases to Positive Land Registration System: Optimizing the Participation of Indigenous Communities in the Granting of Cultivation Rights over Customary Land.”
On October 14, 2019, the team was selected to advance to the presentation round, which was held at Universitas Diponegoro in Semarang from October 25–27, 2019. During the preparation period, they received support and guidance from Glinggang, Chenny, Bram, Chanif, Ibing, and many others.
During the final presentation round in Semarang, the team received valuable feedback and appreciation from the panel of judges, which helped further develop their paper. At the announcement ceremony, the team was named First Place in the 2019 Diponegoro Law Fair Scientific Writing Competition, while Universitas Gadjah Mada was named the Overall Champion of Diponegoro Law Fair 2019.
