One remarkable achievement came from Chikita Handriana (2022), a student at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), who won first place in the senior women's kumite class -61 kg. This success demonstrates Chikita's commitment to developing her talent and affirms UGM's role in supporting a balance between academic and non-academic achievements.
Chikita's success is inseparable from the support of the UGM Karate Student Activity Unit (UKM) and the faculty's policies, which provide flexibility for students in training and competing. This achievement also reflects UGM's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of education, health, and equality. In line with SDG 4 on Quality Education, UGM continues to create an environment that supports students' academic and non-academic development so they can achieve holistically. Furthermore, this success contributes to SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-Being, where sports like karate help maintain physical and mental health, develop disciplined character, and improve students' overall well-being. Not only that, Chikita's victory in the women's kumite category also reflects the spirit of SDG 5 on Gender Equality, demonstrating that women have equal opportunities to compete and excel on the international stage.

Through this achievement, it is hoped that more students will be encouraged to develop their potential, both in academics and sports, in order to create a superior and highly competitive generation.
