The Master’s Program in Notarial Studies at the UGM Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Central Executive Board of the Association of Land Deed Officers (PP IPPAT), held an Orientation and Information Session on the IPPAT Provisional Member (ALB) Internship Program, as well as an Introduction to the Role of a Land Deed Officer (PPAT), on Friday, December 21, 2025, at the Auditorium of Building B, UGM Faculty of Law. This event was attended by alumni of the Master’s Program in Notarial Studies at the UGM Faculty of Law as well as alumni from other universities as part of the preparation process for the IPPAT ALB internship.
This event was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of a Land Deed Officer (PPAT), the structure and role of the PP IPPAT organization, and the official internship process for prospective ALB IPPAT candidates. Through this orientation, participants are expected to gain a foundation in PPAT professionalism as well as a holistic perspective on the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the PPAT position in land administration practice.
The event was opened by Dr. Hapendi Harahap, S.H., Sp.N., M.H., Chairman of the IPPAT Central Board, who delivered the keynote speech. Next, the session began with a presentation on the IPPAT Internship Program delivered by Syarifudin, S.H., M.H., Vice Chair of the Internship Division at PP IPPAT, and Dwi Puspita Sari, S.H., M.Kn., Chair of the Data Management and Information Technology Division at PP IPPAT. During this session, participants received a detailed explanation of the process, requirements, and procedures for the internship that prospective ALBs must understand.
The next session featured Mochamad Ikhwanul Muslimin, S.H., Chair of KANOGAMA, and Dr. Meggy Tribuana Tunggal Sari, S.H., M.Kn., First Secretary of the IPPAT Central Board, who discussed tips for becoming a competent, professional, and organizationally active PPAT. The speakers outlined the five pillars of PPAT professionalism, strategies for strengthening professional ethics, and the importance of organizational support in enhancing a PPAT’s performance quality.
The final session featured Heri Sabto Widodo, S.H., Chair of the Java Inter-Regional Relations Division of the IPPAT Central Board, and Irene Kusumawardhani, S.H., M.Kn., Chair of the Legal Outreach and Seminar Division of the IPPAT Central Board. The material focused on PPAT Office Administration and Support Systems for a Successful PPAT, covering administrative governance, document management and archiving, as well as service standards—all of which are key to the effectiveness of PPATs in providing high-quality land services.
This orientation program serves as a strategic step for prospective IPPAT ALBs to better prepare themselves for entering the world of PPAT practice. With an understanding of internship mechanisms, professional standards, and PPAT office management, participants are expected to develop both technical competencies and ethical readiness as prospective PPATs of integrity.
The issues and materials covered in this program contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By strengthening legal capacity and professional ethics, this event not only fosters the development of professional human resources with integrity but also reinforces the synergy between universities and professional organizations to build credible and sustainable public institutions.
