4. Weight and Study Period
- The number of credits that must be taken is 45 credits and can be completed in 4 (four) semesters.
- Education can be completed in 6 (six) semesters including thesis preparation.
Lecture & Exam
Students must have registered in each semester and have filled out the credits and have the credits approved by Academic Advisor. Lectures are carried out in a structured manner according to a predetermined schedule. In each semester, lectures are carried out within 12 (twelve) weeks, according to the UGM academic calendar.
Examination will be conducted in the end of each semester to evaluate student comprehension. Students must have completed minimum 75% of lecture attendance.
6. Evaluation
The study time limit is 6 (six) semesters, Students who have not completed their studies within the maximum time limit may submit an application for extension of the study period to the Dean of the Faculty of Law UGM, also known by the Head of the Study Program. Graduates of the Master in Business Law and State Law Program, Faculty of Law UGM, have the right to hold an M.H. title, namely Master of Law.
7. Assessment System
Assessment of students refers to final assessment system using ketters A, A-, A/B, B+, B, B-, B/C, C+, C, C-, C/D, D+, D and E. Each letter has a numerical weight as the following:
- A is equivalent to 4,0
- A- is equivalent to 3,75
- A/B is equivalent to 3,5
- B+ is equivalent to 3,25
- B is equivalent to 3,0
- B- is equivalent to 2,75
- B/C is equivalent to 2,5
- C+ is equivalent to 2,25
- C is equivalent to 2,0
- C- is equivalent to 1,75
- C/D is equivalent to 1,5
- D+ is equivalent to 1,25
- D is equivalent to 1
- E is equivalent to 0
Credits taken throughout semesters are used to calculate the grade point average (GPA). There must not be a D value. For a C value, it can be repeated or corrected when the subject in question is offered or tested. Students are declared to have completed the Master of Law Program, Faculty of Law UGM if they meet the following requirements:
- Have passed thesis defense;
- Submitted the manuscripts of thesis and publication
- Minimum GPA 3,00 with no D and E value
The graduation predicate is determined based on the Grade Point Average (GPA), namely:
- > 3,00 and < 3,51 graduated with Satisfactory
- > 3,51 and < 3,75 graduated with Very Satisfactory
> 3,75 graduated with honor Cum Laude, with study period maximum 5 (five) semesters.
8. Academic Leave
Academic Leave is categorized by normal academic leave and special circumstances academic leave. The minimum semester taken to have an academic leave is 2 (two) semesters. Special circumstances such as childbirth, suffering from an illness that requires special care, and the duty of the State. The limit period of academic leave is 4 (four) semesters and should be proposed in each semester. Students who have proposed academic leave do not have to pay tuition fees.
Students who apply for academic leave must submit an application letter addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Law UGM in accordance with the time for taking leave determined by the University.
Students who have finished their academic leave period must submit a letter of application to be active again addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Law UGM.
