Justicia Canteen at FH UGM Provides Healthy, Affordable Meals to Support a Balanced Campus Lifestyle

In support of a healthy lifestyle and the overall well-being of its academic community, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), through the Justicia Canteen, offers a wide range of healthy, nutritious, and affordable food options for students, lecturers, and administrative staff. The menu includes nasi goreng (fried rice), rice bowl, nasi rames, lotek, gado-gado, kwetiau, noodles, and meatball soup (bakso), with prices ranging from Rp10,000 to Rp25,000 per serving.

Beyond flavor, the canteen places strong emphasis on food safety and hygiene. Ingredients are sourced and managed in accordance with nutritional and hygienic standards, supporting the energy needs of the academic community throughout the day. By offering nutritious food options on campus, FH UGM aims to cultivate an awareness of the importance of a balanced diet as part of a healthy and productive lifestyle.

This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), which emphasizes the importance of access to nutritious and affordable food; SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), which promotes healthy eating habits and a supportive living environment; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by encouraging responsible and sustainable food management.

Through the Justicia Canteen and its healthy, affordable menu, the UGM Faculty of Law not only supports the physical health and financial well-being of its campus community — it also plays an active role in creating a sustainable, inclusive campus that genuinely cares for the welfare of all its members.
