UGM Faculty of Law, through its Satria Paramartha Moot Court Organization, participated in the National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) Tjokorda Raka Dherana VIII, organized by the Faculty of Law, Udayana University. In the event, the UGM Faculty of Law delegation won second place and the awards for Best Panel of Judges, Substitute Clerk, Best Legal Counsel, and Best Defendant.
The UGM Faculty of Law delegation consisted of 18 members, including 16 competitors, including Muhammad Ichsan Fahrezky, Aisha Nadira Ridwan, Alyssa Salsabila Suandy, Chikita Handriana, Grace Lidwina Rubberensia Br. Bukit, Kendrick Chang, Patricia Abigail Simanjuntak, Rayhan Alam Riyanto, Adi Suryadinata, Ahista Putri Safnatunnajah, Fairuz Fakhirah Naura Teja, Gerald Xaverius Chandra, Ronnie Alves Junior, Joy Christian Elia Tambunan, Cindy Christina Amelia, Shakila Elsafitri, and two Official Team members: Intania Widhia Ramadhani and Destriany Dita Nurlaila. The delegation's Supervising Lecturer was Dr. Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, S.H., LL.M.
The 2024 NMCC Tjokorda Raka Dherana VIII trial simulation was held offline in two stages: a preliminary round on Saturday (19/10/2024) and a final round on Sunday (20/10/2024). In the preliminary round, the cases raised were related to narcotics crimes, while the final round addressed terrorism crimes. Prior to this, the delegation had gone through a lengthy process, including selection, preparation of trial documents, and, of course, trial simulation training, which took approximately 7-8 months.
UGM's achievements in the 8th NMCC Tjokorda Raka Dherana are certainly due to the hard work of all delegates and the support provided by practitioners, lecturers, parents, alumni, and other parties who supported the entire process. Through this event, the Faculty of Law UGM can continue to uphold the dignity of moot courts, developing dedicated future law enforcement candidates and bringing honor to their alma mater.
