The Health Promoting University of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (HPU FH UGM) held a Health Literacy Workshop titled “GERD/Stomach Acid: Is It Merely a Physical Problem?” The event took place on Friday (September 19, 2025) in Room 201, Building A, FH UGM. The event, which ran from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. WIB, featured Atikah Dian Rahmawati, M.Psi., Psychologist, as the keynote speaker and was moderated by UGM Faculty of Law lecturer Dr. Murti Pramuwardhani Dewi, S.H., M.Hum.
The workshop participants were members of the Darma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) at the UGM Faculty of Law, including both active and retired members. This event aimed to enhance understanding of GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), which is often viewed solely as a physical condition, even though it also has significant psychological aspects.
Through this workshop, the Health Promoting University (HPU) at the UGM Faculty of Law reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness of the importance of holistic health within the academic community, particularly for the UGM Faculty of Law community. Health is an invaluable investment, and this event represents a concrete step toward supporting the quality of life for the academic community, including members of the DWP at the UGM Faculty of Law.
The Health Literacy Workshop titled “GERD/Stomach Acid: Is It Merely a Physical Problem?” organized by the Health Promoting University at the UGM Faculty of Law is a concrete manifestation of support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by raising awareness among the academic community and members of the Darma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) at the UGM Faculty of Law regarding the importance of maintaining a balance between physical and mental health. Additionally, this event supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by improving health literacy as a form of lifelong learning, as well as SDG 5 (Gender Equality), by encouraging women’s active participation in fostering a culture of healthy living on campus. Furthermore, this workshop reflects the implementation of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among academics, professional psychologists, and internal faculty organizations in creating a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable academic ecosystem.
