Legal Counseling Grant for Students 2023: Strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education

In an effort to enhance the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), has introduced a new program titled “Legal Counseling Grant for Students 2023.” This program is an initiative from the Legal Consultation and Assistance Center (PKBH) under the direct guidance of the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., M.A., LL.M.

The Legal Counseling Grant for Students is a concrete effort to involve students in community service, provide legal knowledge to the broader community, and simultaneously hone students’ academic skills. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at FH UGM.

After a selection process conducted by reviewers from among the faculty's lecturers, seven students were chosen to receive grants to carry out legal counseling. The recipients of the grants are as follows:

  1. Enrico Gavriel Putra Christama
  2. Aprilita Putri
  3. Dimas Bintang Aji Praja
  4. Chikita Handriana
  5. Lintang Atha Zahfirah Pramana
  6. Mario Agitama S W Madjid, S.H.
  7. Rifqi Ridlwan Nasir, S.H.

Each selected student will receive a grant of Rp2,500,000.00 (two million five hundred thousand rupiah) to support the execution of their legal counseling programs. This grant is expected to serve as a positive encouragement for students to engage more actively in community service activities.

The program is scheduled to take place from July to September 2023. During this period, the grant recipients will conduct legal counseling on various themes relevant to community needs.

Additionally, students are required to submit final reports and outputs of their legal counseling as part of their accountability for the use of the grant. Thus, this program not only benefits the community but also serves as a means for students to develop themselves in the field of legal counseling.

The “Legal Counseling Grant for Students 2023” program is also expected to make a tangible contribution to achieving the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is quality education. By involving students in legal counseling, it is hoped that legal knowledge can be disseminated widely, creating a more legally aware society, and ultimately supporting sustainable development.
