Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR), Ph.D.a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), presented as a speaker at the Talk Show on Strengthening a Respectful Workplace organized by PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia t the Millennium Centennial Center, South Jakarta. Sri Wiyanti's presence emphasized FH UGM's role in contributing to strengthening the values of social justice and inclusivity in the workplace. The event was designed to instill a commitment to a workplace free from discrimination, violence, and harassment, so that all workers can experience a safe, comfortable, and productive working environment.
As an academic specializing in criminal law, Sri Wiyanti highlighted the importance of implementing legal principles that support worker protection in the modern corporate context. She emphasized that a healthy work culture is not only about productivity but also respect for human dignity in the workplace. By presenting an academic perspective from FH UGM, Pertamina Drilling demonstrated its commitment to building bridges between the business and academic worlds to create sustainable governance.
The Faculty of Law UGM's participation in this activity is also closely linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)Strengthening an inclusive work culture supports SDG 5 (Gender Equality), by protecting women from harassment, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by creating a fair and decent work environment, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by encouraging corporate governance that respects human rights. Sri Wiyanti's involvement in this forum is evidence that the Faculty of Law UGM actively plays a vital role in integrating the SDGs into real-world workplace practices.
