UGM’s Faculty of Law Assists in Drafting Patalan Village Regulations on Public Information Disclosure

The Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), through Dr. Rimawati, S.H., M.Hum., a lecturer in the Department of Constitutional Law, held a consultation meeting on the drafting of a village regulation with the Civil and Administrative Law (Datun) Team of the Yogyakarta Special Region High Prosecutor’s Office. The meeting took place in the Meeting Room of the FH UGM Research Center and focused on the draft Patalan Village Regulation on Public Information Disclosure on Monday (September 8, 2025).

This mentoring activity is part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education—specifically, community service—through a collaboration between the UGM Faculty of Law, the Yogyakarta Special Region Attorney General’s Office, and the Patalan Village Government. During the meeting, Dr. Rimawati and her team presented the results of a desk review of the draft regulation that had been prepared, while also providing guidance on the formal and substantive aspects of drafting regulations to ensure they remain consistent with the hierarchy of applicable laws and regulations, ranging from Regent Regulations to national laws.

Through this activity, the UGM Faculty of Law reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This mentoring program contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through legal education on regulatory drafting, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by strengthening transparent and accountable village governance practices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through close collaboration between academics, law enforcement officials, and village governments. It is hoped that these efforts will support the realization of inclusive village governance and provide tangible benefits to the community.
