UGM continues to strengthen its identity as a World Class Research University (WCU). This is reflected in the various visits made by UGM delegations to reputable universities abroad. One such delegation visit was made to the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen, the Netherlands, held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
The delegation was led by the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., along with several other delegation members, including Dean of the UGM Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Partnerships at the UGM Faculty of Law, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. On this occasion, Professor Otto Hospes, a lecturer and researcher in public policy and administration at Wageningen University and Research (WUR), explained that the primary opportunity for cooperation between the two institutions lies in multidisciplinary research, an area in which WUR holds a distinct advantage. WUR is a university with only a single faculty, meaning the delivery of its education and research rests on a multidisciplinary approach.
Dean of the UGM Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., welcomed WUR's offer warmly. To familiarize the UGM Faculty of Law's academic community with WUR's institutional concept and activities, the Dean plans to organize a guest lecture involving lecturers and researchers in the field of law from WUR. It is hoped that the academic community of the UGM Faculty of Law will be able to place greater emphasis on cross-disciplinary, transdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research.
This partnership reflects one form of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - specifically Goal 4, Quality Education, and Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals.
