Faculty of Law UGM Signs Cooperation Agreement with District Prosecutor’s Offices across Yogyakarta

Following the signing of a cooperation agreement with the District Courts across the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on Thursday, 5 September 2019, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), Prof. Dr. Sigit Riyanto, S.H., LL.M., signed a cooperation agreement with the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY on Thursday, 26 September 2019. The agreement will serve as a legal framework for activities including the Criminal Court Legal Practice Program (PLKH), the Prosecutor’s Office Clinic, internships, and student research at District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY.

Similar to the signing of the agreement with the District Courts, the cooperation agreement with the District Prosecutor’s Offices was formally signed in a ceremony held at FH UGM. The event was attended by the Heads of the Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, Kulon Progo, and Gunungkidul District Prosecutor’s Offices, as well as the Chair and Secretary of the Partnership and Development Unit (PDU) of FH UGM and several staff members from the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY.

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of FH UGM. In his speech, the Dean stated that the cooperation agreement was essentially a formalization of a partnership that had already been established and implemented well between FH UGM and the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY. Through this cooperation, the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY are expected to provide guidance and support to FH UGM students in the areas of education, research, and internships. Representing the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY, the Head of the Yogyakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Umbu Lage Woleka, S.H., expressed his support for the cooperation agreement. He also expressed his hope that the partnership between FH UGM and the District Prosecutor’s Offices across DIY would continue to strengthen in the future.
