The UGM Faculty of Law’s Graduate School recently held the Graduation Ceremony for the Third Session of the 2022/2023 Academic Year on Wednesday (May 10). The ceremony, held in the Auditorium of Building B at the UGM Faculty of Law, was attended by 68 graduates out of a total of 83 graduates from five graduate programs.
The ceremony was opened by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D., Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at the UGM Faculty of Law. The event continued with the presentation of transcripts to graduates who completed their programs with honors by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. This was followed by the presentation of transcripts by the respective Chairs of the Graduate Programs: Chair of the Master of Law Program, Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR)., Ph.D.; Chair of the Master of Notarial Law Program, Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.SI.; Head of the Master of Business and Public Law Program, Irna Nurhayati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Ph.D.; Head of the Jakarta Master of Law Program, Dr. Ricardo Simarmata, S.H.; and Head of the Master of Litigation Law Program, Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum.
This time, the title of top graduate was awarded to Syahwal from the Master’s Program in Law, who achieved a GPA of 3.84 and also received honors. In addition to Syahwal, honors were also awarded to Elia Gabriella from the Master of Law program at the Jakarta Campus with a GPA of 3.84; Vina Zahida from the Master of Business and Public Law program with a GPA of 3.84; and Reforma Meireta Hamzah from the Master of Notarial Law program with a GPA of 3.79.
At this graduation ceremony, Syahwal delivered the remarks on behalf of the graduating class. In his speech, Syahwal thanked the families who had always supported the graduates, enabling them to reach this milestone. He also expressed his gratitude to the faculty members who served as both mentors and friends throughout their academic journey.
“As graduates of the People’s Campus, it seems only fitting that all the knowledge we have gained today be put to use for those who need it—the people in general and the nation in particular. Ultimately, knowledge must always be used to support those who are marginalized, for that is the very essence of our time studying at the People’s Campus,” Syahwal said, concluding his remarks.
The graduation ceremony then continued with remarks by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at the UGM Faculty of Law, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. In his remarks, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho advised, “When you graduates later offer your opinions and provide assistance, please always remember this: You have the opportunity to pursue advanced studies and earn a master’s degree, so you will be regarded as more knowledgeable and better able to think scientifically; therefore, please ensure that your words, attitudes, and actions are carried out responsibly.”
Adrianto Dwi Nugroho also invited the graduates to bow their heads in gratitude to their parents, spouses, and children for all the support and encouragement they received, which enabled them to reach this moment.
