UGM Faculty of Law Achieves Ranking Improvement in QS by Subjects 2024

This is a significant achievement for the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in the QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject. In 2024, the Faculty of Law rose to 217th position, up from 237th in 2023. This significant improvement reflects the Faculty of Law's commitment to the quality of legal education and research.

The QS World University Rankings, released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), is a prestigious global ranking system that evaluates universities based on various criteria, such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, number of citations per faculty, and internationalization. This ranking improvement demonstrates the Faculty of Law's dedication to improving the quality of its education and its global standing.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., expressed her pride in this achievement. "We are certainly very grateful for the increase in the QS ranking by subject (Law) in 2024. This achievement demonstrates the commitment of the UGM Faculty of Law community to enhancing its reputation at the global level. Hopefully, in the years to come, the UGM Faculty of Law can maintain and even improve this achievement," said the Dean on Friday (11/10/2024).

This ranking improvement also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, which emphasizes quality education. The UGM Faculty of Law has been actively involved in promoting accessible, equitable, and high-quality legal education.

One of the strengths of the Faculty of Law lies in its reputation among employers, with a score of 88. Furthermore, the assessment trend for the UGM Faculty of Law has tended to increase year after year. This certainly reflects the success of the Faculty's programs in establishing educational and research collaborations with domestic and international institutions and guaranteeing the quality of superior and highly competitive graduates. 

The UGM Faculty of Law's rise in the QS rankings also reflects the institution's increasing internationalization. The Faculty strives to create a diverse academic environment to enrich students' learning experiences. This diversity is crucial for preparing students to operate in the global legal marketplace.
