In an effort to expand the reach of information to the public and increase prospective students’ interest in graduate programs, the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) is collaborating with the public broadcaster TVRI. This collaboration was realized through the Faculty of Law’s participation in a television program titled Angkringan, which aired on Sunday (May 18, 2025). During the program, the UGM Faculty of Law utilized television as a medium to introduce its flagship master’s degree programs, specifically the Master’s Program in Litigation and the Master’s Program in Health Law. This initiative coincides with the upcoming opening of the fourth round of new student admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
At the event, the faculty was represented by the Associate Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, who currently also serves as Acting Chair of the Master of Health Law Program, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A. Additionally, academic coordinators from both programs were present to provide detailed information regarding the curriculum, strengths, and career prospects for graduates of each program. Through the Angkringan program, the UGM Faculty of Law not only presented the academic profiles of the programs but also emphasized the relevance of legal education to societal needs and current national and global legal dynamics. This promotional event is part of the UGM Faculty of Law’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its position as a leading legal education institution in Indonesia. In addition to the event on May 18, another promotional session is planned for next week to introduce other study programs within the faculty.
This initiative also serves as a concrete manifestation of the UGM Faculty of Law’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 17 on partnerships for the goals. Through collaboration with national media outlets such as TVRI, the UGM Faculty of Law hopes to expand access to legal education information for the general public and foster closer relationships with various stakeholders. Furthermore, this effort aligns with SDG 4 on quality education by promoting open access to higher education information and strengthening public legal literacy through the dissemination of accurate and relevant information. Consequently, this collaboration is expected to contribute to fostering a more legally aware society and supporting the development of inclusive and competitive legal education.
