FH UGM held its Undergraduate Send-off Ceremony for the first period of the 2022/2023 academic year, attended by 75 of the 82 total graduating undergraduate students, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. The ceremony took place in the Auditorium of Building B at FH UGM.
The send-off was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Cooperation at FH UGM, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D., representing the Dean. This was followed by the presentation of academic transcripts to graduates who finished with honors ("cum laude"-equivalent distinction), presented by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Information Systems at FH UGM, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M. Transcripts were then presented by the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M.
In this period, the Faculty of Law graduated 55 students with honors. The distinction of best graduate went to Adelaide Kathya Setianto, with a GPA of 3.94, while the distinction for fastest completion of studies went to Nabila Oktavia Annyndira, who finished her degree in 3 years and 11 months.
As the top graduate, Adelaide represented her fellow graduates in delivering remarks at the ceremony. In her speech, she described the many challenges of university life — including personal struggles, adjusting to a new environment, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Faculty of Law has worked hard to provide the best possible support so that students can continue their studies online. Distance and time are not barriers to carrying out the teaching and learning process. It is this synergy that has enabled all of us to complete our education. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to the entire academic community of the UGM Faculty of Law,” Adelaide said.
The remarks continued from a parent representative, Nuryanto, who thanked all the lecturers for their willingness to guide and mentor the students so they could become outstanding graduates.
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, then spoke, noting that this cohort of graduates was especially remarkable for having experienced both in-person and online learning during their studies.
"I think this is a strength. Because of today's graduation, all of you have proven that in any situation, you can get through it well and remain enthusiastic in pursuing your studies. Your success is something that can certainly be achieved, regardless of the conditions that lie ahead. So, I think there is nothing that can hinder you from achieving success.”
Congratulations to the graduates of FH UGM's first period, with the hope that the knowledge they gained will benefit their communities, nation, and country.
