UGM Faculty Of Law And Pertamina Strengthen Cross-Border Business Law Analysis Through The 2025 Pertamina Mini Master Of Law Program In The 9th Week Of Study

The strategic synergy between academia and industry continues as the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), through the NRGS Center for Natural Resource Governance Studies, together with PT Pertamina Persero through Pertamina Corporate University, holds the next session of the 2025 Pertamina Mini Master of Law Program. Entering its ninth week, this intensive program was held on Saturday and Sunday, September 13–14, 2025, at the UGM Master of Law Campus, Jakarta.

Attended by 60 participants ranging from managerial to executive levels within PT Pertamina Persero, this program was specifically designed to improve analytical skills and strategic decision-making based on law. This session focused on four crucial pillars of advanced business law, namely Comparative Competition Law, Transnational Business Law, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Bankruptcy Law and Debt Payment Deferral.

To ensure depth of material, the learning sessions were led by leading experts who combined academic and practitioner perspectives. Participants gained insights from Prof. Dr. Ari Hernawan, S.H., M.Hum. Professor of Labor Law, Faculty of Law, UGM, Maria Sagrado, S.H., LL.M., M.Kn. Managing Partner of Makarim & Taira S., Muhtar Ali, S.H., LL.M., MCIArb. Founding Partner, Muhtar Halim & Partners Law Office, and Imran Nating, S.H., M.H. Founding Partners, Imran Nating & Partners. In-depth discussions took place on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Closing the learning series on Sunday afternoon, participants took Post-test 4. This session, which ran from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM WIB, was designed as an evaluation tool to measure participants' absorption of the material and their in-depth understanding of the complex business law issues discussed over the weekend.

This initiative reaffirms the shared commitment between the Faculty of Law at UGM and Pertamina in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the enhancement of human resource capacity (SDG 4: Quality Education), the strengthening of fair and transparent corporate governance (SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and productive cross-sector collaboration (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, this program contributes significantly to the formation of a professional, adaptive, and integrity-based national corporate legal ecosystem.
