A lack of expertise in drafting business agreements among the administrators of BUMDes Amanah Berdikari Sumbersari a village-owned enterprise (Badan Usaha Milik Desa/BUMDes) in Sumbersari Village, Sleman has meant that many of the enterprise's business activities have been conducted without a proper contractual foundation. This has left the BUMDes without adequate legal protection and has hindered the growth of its operations.
In response, students from the Master of Notarial Law Program at the UGM Faculty of Law conducted a legal outreach and training session on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Griya Kulon Jogja in Sumbersari Village, on the theme "Training in Business Agreement Drafting to Support the Activities of BUMDes Amanah Berdikari Sumbersari." The activity formed part of the 2024 PKBH FH UGM Grant Program (Hibah PKBH FH UGM 2024).
The event was attended by the Chair and administrators of BUMDes Amanah Berdikari Sumbersari and the Head of Sumbersari Village. Presenters included Rifandika Naufal Afif, Afifah, Aulia Dwi Ramadhanti, Albertus Aditya Budi Setiawan, and Dita Elvia Kusuma Putri.
Beyond the outreach presentations, students also ran hands-on training in business agreement drafting through discussion and Q&A. The program ran smoothly and was met with great enthusiasm from the participants of the counseling and training sessions
"This community service activity organized by the UGM Master of Notarial Law students was truly outstanding. It has been enormously helpful for us as BUMDes administrators in drafting future agreements to support the operations of BUMDes Amanah Berdikari Sumbersari," one of the administrators of BUMDes Amanah Berdikari Sumbersari.
The activity reflects the students' commitment to supporting SDG 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions specifically its goal of strengthening inclusive and peaceful societies for sustainable development, ensuring access to justice, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
