UGM Faculty of Law Lecturers Present as Teachers in Workplace Harassment Prevention Training

Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D.Director of the Center for Law, Gender, and Society Studies, Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), was invited to teach at the Workplace Harassment Prevention Training , held from Monday (May 5, 2025) to Tuesday (May 6, 2025) in Cirebon. This training was initiated by Pertamina Corporate University as part of the company's commitment to raising employee awareness regarding the prevention of harassment in the workplace. Through this program, Pertamina strives to create a healthy and productive workplace by emphasizing the values ​​of mutual respect among all employees.

This training program is designed to strengthen employee understanding of how to prevent, respond to, and take appropriate action when facing harassment in the workplace. Not only does it emphasize legal aspects, but it also encourages changes in organizational culture to be more sensitive to labor protection issues. By inviting academics like Sri Wiyanti, the organizers ensure that academic perspectives are combined with the practical needs of the workplace, thereby ensuring a broader impact.

Sri Wiyanti's presence as an academic at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), underscores the university's contribution to supporting efforts to prevent harassment in the workplace. Through its research centers, the Faculty plays an active role in developing academic studies relevant to societal needs while ensuring that research findings can be implemented in real-world practice. Thus, the Faculty's participation in this program not only strengthens the capacity of workers but also demonstrates the university's strategic role in bridging the academic, policy, and business worlds.
