In order to improve the skill for Faculty of Law UGM, DEMA Justicia held a General Upgrading 2024 with the theme "Public Speaking: Dare to Speak: Dare to Action!". This event was held on Saturday (25/5/2024) located in Faculty of Law UGM. DEMA Justicia invited Dyah Niken Rahmawati (Duta Pemuda Indonesia 2023) (Indonesian Youth Icon 2023) as the speaker for this seminar. This even is expected to reflecting strong commitment from DEMA Justicia, especially in the Internal Department, to consistently provide a platform for the personal development of the entire academic community at the Faculty of Law, UGM. Through a well-organized series of activities, this program has achieved significant results.
Firstly, this year event that was initiated as a platform to develop the soft skill or Faculty of Law students brought up the topic of improving the public speaking skills.Secondly, this event aimed to create a confident manpower with a decent public speaking skills. A clear and interesting presentation from the speakers can motivate and inspire the audience to improve their public speaking skills. Undeniably, this skill is crucial in daily life. The Question and Answer sessions on this event also encourage the participants to actively participate. Lastly, the Third, the creation of a sense of togetherness and belonging among members of the PSDM Department of DEMA Justicia, who supported and encouraged one another from the preparation stage through to the day of the event.
Through General Upgrading 2024, it can be concluded that this event presents as the response for the necessity of a platform to upgrade the soft skill for the students from Faculty of Law UGM. Through the proper preparation for this program, the result has been showing significant results, including the improvement of the acknowledgement from the audience regarding public speaking, including boosting self confidence and effective communication.
