Students from the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM) have once again achieved outstanding success at the national level. The delegation from the PALAPA Legal Writing and Research Forum (FPPH) at FH UGM—comprising Dhea Praja Gupta (2023), Ahista Putri Safnatunnajah (2023), and Jessica Olivia Wulandari Riyanto (2023), won First Place and the Best Paper Award in the Academic Writing competition at the 8th UIN Law Fair 2025. Not only that, but thanks to this achievement—combined with the victory of the UGM Faculty of Law’s SPECIALITY team in another competition category—the UGM Faculty of Law successfully claimed the title of Overall Champion. The competition was organized by the Student Association of the Law Studies Program, Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, on September 26–28, 2025.
Under the guidance of Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M., as their academic advisor, the PALAPA team successfully presented a paper offering an in-depth analysis of this year’s overarching theme: “Constitutional Dialectics as a Means of Public Retention in Addressing Constitutional Dynamics to Achieve Legal Inclusivity.” Through a comprehensive academic research-based approach, systematic argumentation, and the presentation of practical solutions, the PALAPA delegation stood out among the other participants.
After passing through a rigorous preliminary round, the UGM Faculty of Law team advanced to the final round to present their work before the panel of judges. Solid collaboration, clear arguments, and the ability to comprehensively answer the judges’ questions led them to win First Place and the Best Academic Paper Award at the UIN Law Fair VIII 2025.
This achievement reflects the UGM Faculty of Law’s commitment to fostering an academic culture that is excellent, innovative, and integrity-driven among its students. Furthermore, this success supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), through the development of inclusive legal literacy and academic contributions to national legal governance.
