The Faculty of Law delegation from Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) once again achieved success in the prestigious international arbitration moot court event, The 32nd Willem C. Vis (West) International Commercial Arbitration Mootheld from April 11–17, 2025, in Vienna, Austria. The FH UGM delegation placed 80th out of 385 teams from various countries.
The delegation, comprised of seven FH UGM students: Maria Na Uli Salsabilah Sabililah (2021), Althea Ariawan (2022), Armyna Cindy Setyorini (2022), Sabina Kirana Zildji (2022), Stephanie Novena Eva Prasetyo (2022), Vincent Barukh Ethan (2022), and Ni Putu Anindya Dewi Bakta (2023), as well as one manager, Sheika Sabhika Sahda, were accompanied by coaches from among the alumni and outstanding students. This success demonstrates the development of academic quality and international trade law practice at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
This achievement also aligns with UGM's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by enhancing students' academic capacity in international law. Furthermore, this arbitration competition promotes the principles of justice and inclusive legal governance, supporting SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
The support of the dean's office, supervising lecturers such as Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw., as well as alumni and sponsors were crucial factors in the delegation's success.
