Team A.S. Natabaya from the UGM Faculty of Law won first place in the 2023 Airlangga Law Competition (ALC) IV Academic Writing Competition. The competition was organized by the Airlangga Young Jurists Association (MYMA) of the Faculty of Law at Airlangga University from Saturday, May 27, to Sunday, May 28, in person in Surabaya.
The theme of the ALC IV 2023 Academic Writing Competition was “The Implementation of the SDGs in Legal Development Grounded in Pancasila and Human Rights in the 5.0 Era.”
The competition began with a screening of academic papers submitted by various teams from undergraduate law faculties at universities across Indonesia. Based on the manuscript selection, five teams with the best submissions were chosen to advance to the final round. These five teams were from Gadjah Mada University, Brawijaya University, the University of Indonesia, Sultan Agung Islamic University, and Diponegoro University.
The first day of the final round featured presentations by each team, followed by a question-and-answer session and evaluation by the panel of judges. The second day featured a legal webinar with speakers Dr. Wahiduddin Adams, S.H., M.A., a Justice of the Constitutional Court; Jauhar Kurniawan, S.H., an attorney at YLBHI-LBH Surabaya; and Dr. Hananto Widodo, S.H., M.H., a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Surabaya State University.
The competition results were announced shortly after the webinar ended. In this competition, Team A.S. Natabaya—comprising Wahyu Aji Ramadan (2020), Fitria Amesti (2021), and Albert Suprayogi Ginting (2021)—won first place in the ALC IV 2023 Scientific Writing Competition.
In recognition of this achievement, the delegation expressed their gratitude to Dr. Mailinda Eka Yuniza, SH, LL.M., as the competition’s supervising lecturer. The delegation also extended their thanks to everyone who helped prepare for this competition.
It is our sincere hope that students from the UGM Faculty of Law will continue to achieve success in competitions held at both the national and international levels.
