UGM continues to strengthen its identity as a World Class University (WCU). This was demonstrated by an academic benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Law at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) on Wednesday (October 11, 2003). HKU is one of the top universities in Asia, ranked 25th in the 2023 QS World University Rankings. HKU’s Faculty of Law is also ranked 25th in the 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The delegation from UGM’s Faculty of Law was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D. Also present were other members of the delegation: Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv LL.M., LL.D.; Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D.; Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., LL.M., M.A.; and Nailul Amany, S.H., M.H.
According to Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., this academic benchmarking aims to strengthen international collaboration with the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), while also enhancing both academic and non-academic quality in the Undergraduate and Doctoral Programs in Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM.
During this visit, a collaboration initiative was also launched between the Faculty of Law at HKU and the Faculty of Law at UGM. The Dean of the Faculty of Law at HKU, Prof. Hualing Fu, and the Associate Dean (International Affairs), Prof. Shahla Ali, welcomed the collaboration with the Faculty of Law at UGM, particularly regarding several cooperative programs such as research fellowships, student exchanges, and dual-degree programs. This aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 7: Quality Education and Partnerships for the Goals.
The Dean and Vice Dean of the HKU Faculty of Law hope that the collaboration with the UGM Faculty of Law will develop successfully. The HKU Faculty of Law offers several programs that are fully supported by the Hong Kong Government and is very open to international collaboration.
