The Business Law Community (BLC) at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University successfully organized a series of events Mentoring & Workshop: Acquisition of Private Companies which took place on Tuesday (May 27, 2025) and Saturday (May 31, 2025). This event featured legal practitioner Viktor Rivardo, S.H., LL.M., from Hendra Soenardi Law Firm, as the keynote speaker.
The series of activities began with an online mentoring session via Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (May 27, 2025), which provided participants with in-depth insights into the legal aspects, strategies, and practical dynamics of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in private companies. Subsequently, the event continued with an in-person workshop held at the UGM Faculty of Law on Saturday (May 31, 2025). During this session, participants were directly engaged in case discussions and business law practice simulations guided by the speakers.
This program makes a tangible contribution to enhancing students’ academic and professional capabilities. Participants gain a broader understanding of corporate law, strengthen their analytical skills regarding M&A issues, and gain insight into the challenges of the professional world in the field of business law. Furthermore, this program serves as a platform for students interested in public speaking and legal discussions to hone their skills through interactive forums.
Furthermore, Mentoring & Workshop align with the agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By enhancing business law literacy, these activities support SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing access to knowledge from leading legal practitioners; contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by equipping students with relevant skills to enter the workforce; and strengthens SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through an understanding of transparent and accountable corporate legal regulations and practices.

This event is expected to serve as a starting point for students to gain greater confidence in addressing complex business law issues. Through this event, the BLC at the Faculty of Law, UGM, provides an academic forum tailored to students’ needs, while also supporting sustainable development through high-quality legal education that is grounded in real-world practice.
