UGM Faculty of Law Welcomes SMA Labschool Kebayoran Students, Inspiring the Next Generation of Legal Professionals

On Monday, January 29, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a study visit from students of SMA Labschool Kebayoran. The visit was designed to promote the Faculty of Law and offer prospective students insight into the educational opportunities available to aspiring law students in line with the SDGs on Quality Education.

The program opened with a warm welcome from faculty members, who expressed their enthusiasm for engaging with the high school students. The two main speakers were Taufiq Adiyanto, S.H., LL.M., and Virga Dwi Effendi, S.H., LL.M., who shared information about the curriculum, areas of faculty expertise, and the range of programs on offer. Their presentations highlighted the importance of quality education in shaping future legal professionals.

Throughout the session, the students of SMA Labschool Kebayoran were encouraged to ask questions about the Faculty of Law and the legal profession. This interactive format allowed students to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to study law at UGM. Many expressed an interest in pursuing careers in law, and faculty members offered guidance on the admissions process and the skills needed to succeed in the field.

Tri Rahmat Hidayat, A.Md., served as the event's facilitator, ensuring the discussion ran smoothly and all student questions were addressed. His role was essential in creating an engaging atmosphere where students felt comfortable expressing their thoughts and concerns. The collaboration between speakers and facilitator reflected UGM's commitment to building a supportive educational environment.

Beyond promoting the Faculty of Law, the visit emphasized the importance of quality education as a fundamental right. The SDGs stress the need for inclusive and equitable quality education, and UGM is committed to contributing to this goal by providing accessible educational opportunities for all students.

The collaboration between UGM and SMA Labschool Kebayoran reflects the importance of partnerships in advancing educational goals. By engaging with secondary school students, UGM not only promotes its programs but also encourages a new generation to pursue higher education and contribute to society.

In conclusion, the study visit from SMA Labschool Kebayoran to the UGM Faculty of Law was a successful event that highlighted the significance of quality education and student enrollment. Through informative discussions and a campus tour, students were empowered to consider their futures in law — in alignment with the broader goals of the Sustainable Development Goals.
