Sudirman Team from Faculty of Law UGM Achieved the 2nd Position on 2024 UAJY Law Fair for National Essay Competition

The academic community from the Faculty of Law UGM had achieved another achievement from Sudirman Team that consisted of Gisela Rimayla Caroline Tarigan (2022) and Linda Kristiani Sianturi (2022) in UAJY Law Fair 2024. The competition was conducted on Thursday (12/9/2024) until Saturday (14/9/2024). UAJY Law Fair 2024 is being held for the first time this year by Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, featuring national-level legal competitions and seminars. The competitions include an essay contest and a debate competition. A rotating trophy is awarded in this competition.

The grand theme for this event was “The Symphony of Nusantara Capital City: Embracing the Journey to Development Through Indonesian Governance, To A Better Future”. This competition was attended by hundreds of law students from various universities in Indonesia.

The sub-theme that raised by the delegation touched upon the issue of partnership collaboration between government and business entities (KPBU) in IKN. The delegates analyzed the effectiveness of KPBU implementation using the availability paymentscheme. The analysis then formulated into an essay with the title “Analysis on the Effectiveness of Availability Payment in Government and Business Entities Partnership (KPBU) in IKN to Guarantee The Payment”.

During the elimination stage, Sudirman Team had competed with 28 other teams until they successfully made it into the semifinal stage. In this stage, Sudirman Team had to compete with 4 other teams with presenting their essay, until they achieved the 2nd position.

“I feel happy that I can represent FH UGM in a national competition, especially with the topic about IKN, which is something that I am interest interested in. Moreover, I born in Balikpanan, East Kalimantan, a city that will support IKN in the future,” said Gissela Rimalya Caroline Tarigan.

Linda Kristiani Sianturi also felt the same as Gissela, both of the delegates feel grateful and proud regarding their contribution and the honor they brought despite their busy schedule as the part-time Public Relations officer at the Secretariat of Gadjah Mada University.

Both delegates, Gissela and Linda, hope to contribute even more to their achievements as students at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), and they also envision contributions from other academics in passing the baton to the next UAJY Law Fair. Gissela and Linda, in particular, hope that the knowledge gained during this competition will benefit them in the future.
