Thursday (8/8/20), Vice Dean Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., M.A., LL.M held a legal counseling at the Meeting Hall of Jomblangan Hamlet, Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Sleman. This legal counseling was a part of the responsibility of the legal counseling grant receiver that was given by Consultation and Legal Aid Centre (PKBH) FH UGM. This legal counseling consisted of the introduction of PKBH FH UGM to the people and the material regarding the strengthening of legal awareness to the public. This event then continued with the question and answer session regarding the legal issue and the legal aids that can be obtained regarding to the issue that was discussed.
This event was attended by 47 participants that consisted of the village officials and village residents. This legal counseling aimed to give the legal knowledge to the public along with strengthening their legal awareness. Aside from that, its is also expected that the participants can make PKBH FH UGM as one of the facilitate to help them solving the legal issues around them. PKBH FH UGM itself does not charge fees for the legal assistance provided, with certain conditions.
This legal counseling is a form of SDGs implementation, especially with the 11th point under the basis that law and legal remedies can realize a Sustainable Cities and Communities because the proper issue settlement enable the resolution of problems in the surrounding life properly so as to avoid problems that could make the surrounding settlements unsafe or disturbed. This legal counseling is also aligned with the 16th goal of SDGs because the introduction of PKBH and the spread of the legal awareness can make the peace and justice at the village. This legal counseling and discussion ran smoothly and is expected to bring more benefit to the village residents.
