Thursday (29/02/2024) Genjahan Subdistrict, Gunung Kidul, became the target of the Suluh Praja Legal Counselling that involving the people in order to understand and solve the legal problem that circulating, especially the land issue. This legal counselling aimed to give a better knowledge regarding the land law and the steps on solving the problem, in accordance with the effort to realize sustainable development.
First term of this counselling presented a prestigious speaker in the law field, Dr. Jur. Any Andjarwati, S.H., M.Jur., and Anggita Mustika Dewi, S.H., M.Kn., that answered the questions and problems that were asked by the participants regarding the village land.
“Knowledge regarding land law is important in ensuring the sustainable and justice development for the people,” said Dr. Any Andjarwati.
Ikhsan, one of the participants, brought up the problem about Governor Regulation 34/2017 that limited the village to inventory the land and swapping the village land. Dr. Any Andjarwati explained about the license must be obtained for the transfer of the kasultanan land, with paying attention to the aspect of the physical control, management, and benefit for the people. She also emphasized the importance of the legal enforcement in the issue of land misadministration.
Other participant, Suripto, highlighted on the land misused that often happened. Afterwards, Anggita Mustika Dewi suggested to not sign the land document before verifying the legality of the document, or simply just reject the document. Regarding the fault in the land swapping last year that just discovered recently, Dr. Any explained that if the status remains unclear, then it just merely the administrative issue that can be handled technically.
Moreover, the questions on the village head authority as the paralegal justice also answered crystal clear. Anggita Mustika Dewi emphasized on the importance to acknowledge the limits of authority and have a special power of attorney if representing someone else in court.
In the SDGs context, Sustainable Development Goals this session support the realization of the 16th point of SDGs on the Justice with ensuring the equal legal enforcement, and the 11th point of SDGs on the Sustainable Cities and Communities with ensuring the inclusive and sustainable residental.
This legal counselling is one of the real step in providing a better access for justice system and community legal empowerment, towards a more just and sustainable society.
