Wednesday (28/02/2024) Faculty of Law UGM collaborated with Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office successfully held a legal counselling in Kemadang Subdistrict’s Meeting Hall, Gunung Kidul. This legal counseling aimed to shared a legal knowledge to the subdistrict government towards the legal issue that keeps occurring in this subdistrict.
This counselling session was attended by the local government, approximately by 30 participants. This Suluh Praja carried out the theme “Subdistrict Regulations” that aimed to give a theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the local regulations.
This event started at 10.00 WIB and opened with singing the Indonesia National Anthem, and continued by opening remarks from the Village Head. Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office also introduced the materials regarding the duties, responsibilities, and main functions in the civil and state administration owned by the Republic of Indonesia Attorney General's Office.
This presentation then proceeded with the speakers from Faculty of Law UGM, Dr. Andi Snadi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralippu, S.H., LL.M. as the lecturer from the Administrative Law Department. The presentation brought up the theme of “Subdisctrict Regulations”. Andi Sandi explained about the existence of the regulations and the hierarchy of the laws and regulations, technical and general guidelines on the the formation of laws and regulations, as well as the importance of village regulations in the sustainability of villages.
This Suluh Praja was aimed to realize the 16th point on SDGs on the Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. This realization was carried out with strengthening the government’s role to be more accountable, effective, and transparent, along with enforcing the law and regulations that support the sustainable development without any discriminations.
This counselling ran smoothly and filled with enthusiasm from the participants to discuss with the speakers. Hopefully, this counselling can push the local government in improving the institutional structure of the Kemadang Village Government to be more resilient and accountable.
