13 Indonesian University Delegates Participate in the 6th Bulaksumur National Moot Court Competition at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University

The 6th Bulaksumur National Civil Moot Court Competition (NMCC), organized by the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, officially opened on Friday, November 8, 2024. The opening ceremony, held in the Auditorium of Building B of the Faculty of Law, was attended by 13 delegates or representatives from universities across Indonesia. In addition to the 13 delegates, two observer delegations also attended the opening ceremony.

With the theme "Civil Law Exploration: Developing the Potential of Law Faculty Students in Realizing Justice in Indonesia," the NMCC proceeded smoothly. Several university delegations participated in the 6th NMCC Bulaksumur, including Brawijaya University, Padjadjaran University, Bhayangkara University Surabaya, Diponegoro University, Lampung University, Hasanuddin University, Semarang State University, Trisakti University, Maranatha Christian University, University of Indonesia, Airlangga University, Udayana University, and Parahyangan Catholic University. Two observers attended the opening ceremony: Halu Oleo University and Warmadewa University.

The preliminary round, attended by 13 delegates, resulted in four delegations advancing to the final round. The four delegations that advanced to the final round were Padjadjaran University, Udayana University, Lampung University, and Brawijaya University. In the 6th NMCC Bulaksumur, Udayana University won first place, Padjadjaran University second place, and Brawijaya University third place.

The closing ceremony of the 6th NMCC Bulaksumur was held at the Yogyakarta Cultural Park on Monday, November 11, 2024. The closing ceremony, which also announced the winners, featured a guest performance by Indonesian singer Adrian Khalif.

The NMCC Bulaksumur is a National Civil Moot Court Competition held by the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), held every two years. Since 2012, the competition aims to enhance the scientific and research capabilities of law students across Indonesia in the field of civil law. Through this competition, Indonesian law students are expected to gain knowledge to support their legal practice and professional careers as law enforcement officers in Indonesia.
