Jakarta – Online workshop with the theme “Mahasiswa Hukum ‘Gak Bisa Menulis? Rugi Dong!” was successfully held on Thursday (25/04). This event was a collaboration between Master of Law Program Faculty of Law UGM–Jakarta Campus with Hukumonline, the informative law platform in Indonesia. This workshop was attended by 250 attendants that consist of Faculty of Law UGM students and the law students from other universities as well.
This workshop presented by 2 competent speakers, namely Yance Arizona S.H., M.H., M.A., Ph.D., Constitutional Law lecturer and the Research and Publication Unit Head Faculty of Law UGM, and Fathan Qarib, Editor in Chief for Hukumonline. These two speakers are sharing their experience and tips on interesting and qualified legal article writing.
There are some important points that addressed in this workshop such as the legal writing structure, understanding the social media publication qualifications, until the tips on developing the class assignment to be a scientific journal article. Other than that, the participants also introduced with the Research and Publication Unit (URP) UGM as the facilitator to support the scientific writing skill development.
The participants were enthusiastically asking several questions to the speakers regarding the theory and the practice in writing a trending legal writing. The speakers also responding the participants by giving the tutorial on delivering the legal analysis with a simple language style that can easily be understood by the public.
This activity is considered very useful, especially for law students who want to improve their writing skills. This ability is not only important for academic purposes, but also an indicator of adequate legal competence.
This workshop is expected to motivate law students to continue developing their writing skills as part of their contribution to the legal world.
