A total of 111 graduates filled Building I of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), on Wednesday afternoon (24/8). The graduating class consisted of 51 male and 60 female graduates.
The ceremony was opened by Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Dean of FH UGM. Also in attendance were Linda Yanti Sulistiawati, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs; Dwi Haryati, S.H., M.H., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources; and Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., M.A., LL.M., Head of the Undergraduate Law Program, who presented the graduates' academic results.
The academic results for this graduation period comprised 42 graduates with cum laude honors, 53 with Very Satisfactory honors, and 14 with Satisfactory honors.
Following the presentation of the academic results, Yota Aprionita Tama was given the opportunity to deliver remarks on behalf of the graduating class. The graduate, who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00, shared reflections on his time at FH UGM. He expressed his gratitude to the lecturers who had helped broaden his perspective, particularly his thesis supervisor.
He also encouraged his fellow graduates to carry the values they had gained at FH UGM into their next chapter. “We are created for society and will eventually become part of society again. Our next step is to determine how we can contribute to society,” he said.
The 2012 cohort graduate expressed his hope that FH UGM alumni would contribute to the development of Indonesia while continuing to uphold the good name of their alma mater. He also encouraged his fellow graduates to remain humble and continue growing, much like rice that bends lower as its grains become fuller. (Fitri)
