To start the new year, Dharma Wanita of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), organized a trip to Klaten and Boyolali on Saturday, 13 January 2018, as an opportunity to strengthen bonds among the women of the FH UGM community. The bus departed from FH UGM at 7:00 a.m. for Batik Prasojo in Klaten, which offers a variety of ready-to-wear clothing and lurik fabrics, while also showcasing the fabric production process. The group then continued to Sinta Hijab, a wholesale center for hijabs and women’s clothing sold online.

The Dharma Wanita members then visited Tlatar Boyolali to explore Umbul Pengilon and Umbul Asem while enjoying the fresh water and air. Visitors can see fish swimming in the exceptionally clear waters fed by the two natural springs. The trip continued to Zalfa, a stingray leather craft center in Boyolali. In addition to stingray leather, Zalfa also produces crafts from cowhide, snakeskin, and other materials.

Boyolali is well known for its local cattle. Before returning home, the Dharma Wanita FH UGM group visited Keju Indrakila and Elang Beef Floss. Keju Indrakila offers a variety of cheeses, including mozzarella, mountain, feta, feta black pepper, olive oil, and Boyobert. It also sells fresh milk, yogurt, various cheese-based products, and dairy derivatives such as milk soap. Meanwhile, Elang Beef Floss offers a variety of processed beef products, including beef floss, dendeng, and rendang in various flavors.

Srihadi Asmaraningsih, wife of FH UGM Dean Prof. Dr. Sigit Riyanto, expressed her hope that the trip would strengthen togetherness and foster closer bonds among the women, particularly the mothers within the FH UGM community. – SIP
