Constitutional Law Department is one of academic implementing elements in UGM Faculty of Law, especially state knowledge. The studies in this Department consist of issues that relate to constitutionalism and democracy, state institutions, planning and testing of laws and regulations, comparison of constitutional law, judicial authority, political party law and general election, presidencial institution, local government, nationality, human rights, and other issues in constitutional law.

Drawing upon its experience and available resources, the Department of Constitutional Law aspires to become a leading institution in the fields of teaching, research, and community service. In the field of teaching, the Department is committed to fostering a conducive academic environment in order to produce graduates with strong academic capabilities. In the field of research, the Department continuously strives to develop and disseminate knowledge in the area of constitutional law to support the improvement of Indonesia’s political and constitutional legal system. Furthermore, in the field of community service, the Department remains committed to contributing to the realization of a just and prosperous society through various programs of public outreach, practical activities, and training in the field of state governance.
