The Speech and Law Debate Society, represented by Ardian Dwi Saputra (2020), Rayhan Alif Syahputra (2021), and Muhammad Farkhan (2021), successfully brought honor to the UGM Faculty of Law. In the Parahyangan Legal Competition, which took place from Saturday (November 18, 2023) through Sunday (November 19, 2023), the delegation won first place. Additionally, Muhammad Farkhan was nominated for Best Oralist. In this competition, the delegation was assisted by Ganis Putri Rachmawati (2021)
This prestigious competition was participated in by 12 teams from various universities across Indonesia. The selection process began with a preliminary round, in which each team was divided into 4 chambers, each consisting of 3 teams. Then, the 2 teams from each chamber with the highest victory points advanced to the quarterfinals. From the quarterfinals through the finals, the competition was conducted in an elimination format. The delegation successfully navigated every stage of the competition from start to finish, advancing to the finals and ultimately winning the 2023 Parahyangan Legal Competition.
The delegation’s success is attributable to the power of God Almighty and the support of everyone involved—from the research phase and debate practice through to the competition itself. In closing, congratulations to the delegation for bringing honor to Gadjah Mada University. May this achievement inspire the Gadjah Mada University team to continue shining in future competitions.
