Group Exercise and Justicia Fun Competition Enliven FH UGM’s 80th Anniversary Celebration

The Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) organized a Group Exercise Session and a series of competitions as part of its 80th Anniversary (16th Lustrum) Celebration on Friday (6/2/2026). The event formed part of the Faculty’s commemoration of eight decades of academic excellence while serving as an opportunity to strengthen bonds among members of the academic community.

The program commenced with opening remarks from the Chair of the Anniversary Committee, Prof. Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar, S.H., LL.M., followed by remarks from the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Mailinda Eka Yuniza, S.H., LL.M. The official opening of the event was marked by a symbolic balloon release conducted jointly by Prof. Zainal, Prof. Mailinda, and members of the organizing committee.

Following the opening ceremony, participants took part in a Group Exercise Session attended by faculty members and administrative staff. Led by a professional instructor, the activity reflected the participants’ enthusiasm and strong sense of togetherness. The festive atmosphere continued during the communal breakfast session, which featured an exciting door prize giveaway. A variety of prizes were awarded to participants, ranging from household appliances and televisions to tablets and bicycles.

On the same day, the Faculty also organized the Justicia Fun Competition, a series of contests designed to engage members of the FH UGM community. The competitions included a Chess Tournament, MasterChef Justicia Competition, Children’s Fashion Show themed “Little Legal Eagles: My Dream Profession,” Tug-of-War Competition, and a Table Tennis Tournament. Beyond serving as a platform for friendly competition, these activities fostered solidarity, creativity, and sportsmanship among members of the academic community.

The Group Exercise Session and Justicia Fun Competition reflect the Faculty’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). By promoting healthy lifestyles, strengthening social bonds, and fostering a supportive institutional environment, the 80th Anniversary celebration serves as a meaningful opportunity to cultivate an inclusive, harmonious, and sustainable academic community.
