FH UGM's Graduate School held its Send-off Ceremony for the first period of the 2022/2023 academic year on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Held in the Auditorium of Building B at FH UGM, the event was attended by 69 of the 98 total graduates from six graduate degree programs.
The ceremony was opened by Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Law. This was followed by the presentation of academic transcripts to graduates who finished with honors, presented by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Cooperation, Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. Transcripts were then presented individually by the heads of each graduate program: Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR)., Ph.D. (Head, Master of Laws); Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.SI. (Head, Master of Notarial Law); Irna Nurhayati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Ph.D. (Head, Master of Business and State Law); Dr. Ricardo Simarmata, S.H. (Head, Master of Laws, Jakarta campus); Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum. (Head, Master of Litigation Law); and Dr. Rimawati, S.H., M.Hum. (Head, Master of Health Law).
In this period, the distinction of top graduate went to Mega Valencia Tanujaya from the Master of Health Law program, with a GPA of 3.96, who also graduated with honors. Beyond Mega, honors were also awarded to 2 graduates from the Master of Health Law program, 2 from the Master of Laws (Jakarta) program, 3 from the Master of Laws program, and 7 from the Master of Business and State Law program.
At the ceremony, remarks on behalf of the graduates were delivered by Mega Valencia Tanujaya. In her speech, she referenced lyrics from the song "Pesawat Kertas 365 Hari" by JKT48, “Life is like a paper plane, flying and going, carrying dreams. With all our might and a gust of wind, we continue to fly forward. One important thing: always follow your heart. May the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, continue to prosper. Viva Justicia!"
Remarks then followed from FH UGM Dean Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D. She expressed pride that the graduates had made it through the entire process to reach this point, but noted that their journey isn't truly over — they still have battles ahead as they return to life in society.
"This is what is called a struggle; it means bitter, sour, sweet, and salty—everything must be experienced. Do not forget what has been taught by our lecturers at the Faculty of Law. You have been equipped with everything: knowledge, skills, and values. So, make your best contribution to the nation and the people of Indonesia. Good luck with your endeavors, good luck with your struggles, and Viva Justicia!" said Dahliana Hasan to the graduates present at the send-off ceremony.
Congratulations to the graduates of FH UGM's Graduate School, first period, with the hope that the knowledge they've gained will benefit their communities, nation, and country.
