Friday (5/8), the Faculty of Law of UGM hosted the meeting to establish leadership for the Central Indonesia Regional chapter of BKS FH-PTN (the cooperation forum for public university law faculties across Indonesia). Held at The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta, the event was attended by deans from nine public universities with law faculties: Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Tidar, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, Universitas Negeri Semarang, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Universitas Gadjah Mada (as host), and Universitas Indonesia. The meeting was opened by the national Chair of BKS FH-PTN, Dr. Edmon Makarim, S.Kom., S.H., LL.M., who is also Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Indonesia.
Led by FH UGM Dean Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., the deans discussed which universities might potentially join the central region grouping. This was prompted by the fact that many activities and competitions are currently organized based on BKS FH-PTN regional divisions, making it important to clarify these regional boundaries to avoid future confusion.
The meeting then moved to forming the leadership of the Central Indonesia Regional BKS FH-PTN, reached through consensus among the law faculty deans of Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Tidar, and Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Consensus was ultimately reached: the position of Chair of the Central Indonesia Regional BKS FH-PTN went to the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Sebelas Maret, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Ketut Rachmi Handayani, S.H., M.M. The role of Secretary went to the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum. The role of Treasurer went to the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Dr. Rodhiyah, S.Pd., S.H., M.Si.
