On Thursday, August 15, 2024, the Faculty of Law UGM, through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), conducted the "Suluh Praja" Legal Counseling Coordination Meeting, Termin III, as part of the “Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi”, specifically community service, in collaboration with the High Prosecutor's Office of DIY. This event also represents the Faculty of Law's efforts to fulfill SDGs number 16 by fostering inclusive institutional development.
This Coordination Meeting of Suluh Praja was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, including Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw, the Secretary I of PKBH, along with PKBH part-timer . Additionally, representatives from the High Prosecutor's Office of Yogyakarta Special Region were present, including Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., the Coordinator of Civil and Administrative Affairs, along with the team of State Attorneys.
This Coordination Meeting of Suluh Praja marks the initial preparation by PKBH of the Faculty of Law UGM and the High Prosecutor's Office of DIY for conducting legal counseling in various villages across the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The 2024 Suluh Praja legal counseling program has entered Termin III, which will be carried out in more than 10 villages spread across the Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul, and Kulon Progo regions. In its implementation, Suluh Praja Termin III will diversify the themes of legal counseling to address issues commonly encountered in the community. The collaboration between PKBH of the Faculty of Law UGM and the High Prosecutor's Office of DIY will be further enhanced to ensure a more effective implementation of Suluh Praja.
The Coordination Meeting of Suluh Praja Termin III went smoothly and resulted in conclusions regarding the implementation of Suluh Praja Termin III in Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul, and Kulon Progo in September 2024, with various themes such as the Special Status of Yogyakarta, Multiple Helix, Restorative Justice, and others relevant to community issues. This coordination meeting reflects the strong synergy between the Faculty of Law UGM and the High Prosecutor's Office of DIY, particularly in the area of community service.
