PUKAT FH UGM and the KPK Hold a Public Discussion on Anti-Corruption Education

The Center for Anti-Corruption Studies at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (PUKAT FH UGM), in collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPK RI), is hosting a public discussion titled “Anti-Corruption Education to Build a Culture of Integrity.” The event took place on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB in the Auditorium of Building B, Faculty of Law, UGM.

The discussion featured KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto, Caksana Institute Director Wasingatu Zakiyah, and PUKAT Chair at the Faculty of Law, UGM, Dr. Totok Dwi Diantoro, S.H., M.A., LL.M. The event was attended by representatives from academia, legal practitioners, non-governmental organizations, and student organizations.

Anti-corruption education is a key pillar in preventing corruption in Indonesia. It is not limited to specialized courses; anti-corruption education can also be integrated into various areas of learning to foster character and a culture of integrity from an early age.

In addition to raising public awareness, this discussion also aims to identify challenges in implementing anti-corruption education and to foster collaboration between the KPK, academics, and civil society. Through this forum, it is hoped that concrete ideas will emerge to strengthen a more inclusive and sustainable education-based strategy for combating corruption.

This initiative also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through the strengthening of clean and accountable governance. Furthermore, the integration of anti-corruption education into various levels of education aligns with SDG 4 on Quality Education, which promotes character-building and integrity-based learning for the younger generation.
