The Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM) achieved remarkable academic success in 2025 with the publication of 28 Scopus-indexed journal articles by its faculty members. This achievement reflects FH UGM’s consistent commitment to promoting innovative, multidisciplinary legal research focused on solving global problems. In addition to enhancing its academic reputation, these publications also strengthen FH UGM’s contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Faculty members at the UGM Faculty of Law have published strategic scholarly works covering issues in public law, environmental law, digital technology, governance, business, economics, and social issues. These scholarly works are published not only in nationally reputable journals but also in international ones. The scope of these themes directly aligns with several pillars of the SDGs, including SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of a research culture and the production of high-quality knowledge; SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through studies on the rule of law, judicial reform, and governance; and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through research on environmental governance and climate law.
Some of the strategic research studies that have been successfully published include:Melindungi Data Pribadi di Sektor Publik, mengenai implikasi UU Perlindungan Data Pribadi sebagai rezim hukum baru di Indonesia.
• Menghijaukan Lembaga Peradilan dan Pengadilan Lingkungan, menelaah reformasi peradilan berorientasi ekologi.
• Kajian Tanggung Jawab Negara atas Perubahan Iklim dan Konstitusionalisme di Era Antroposen, yang memperkuat dasar ilmiah hukum lingkungan internasional.
• Regulasi Pemerintah Aceh dalam Sistem Presidensial, Aktivisme Yudisial MK, dan Pencegahan Konstitusionalisme Abusif, menggambarkan dinamika politik-hukum Indonesia.
• Integrasi AI dalam Arbitrase, Hak Kekayaan Intelektual di Metaverse, serta Tantangan Teknologi Global, menjawab isu hukum era digital.
• Penelitian Bioteknologi Lingkungan, terkait bakteri pengurai plastik di Karimunjawa.
• Pendanaan Litigasi oleh Pihak Ketiga, Kepuasan Merek, serta Implikasi Pajak Minimum Global, memperluas jangkauan penelitian ke ranah ekonomi bisnis.
• Kajian sosial dan HAM, termasuk Normalisasi Kekerasan di Papua, Ketidakpatuhan ASN, dan Orientalisme dalam Studi Islam Indonesia.
The distribution of these themes shows that the publications produced by the UGM Faculty of Law not only have academic impact but also practical relevance in addressing global issues such as climate change, digital transformation, legal reform, and geopolitical dynamics.
With the successful publication of 28 Scopus-indexed journals, the UGM Faculty of Law has further solidified its position as a leading center for legal research that promotes a multidisciplinary approach. This achievement is expected to strengthen international collaboration, enhance the quality of SDG-based research, and expand the UGM Faculty of Law’s contribution to efforts to achieve sustainable development through progressive and far-reaching legal studies.
