Friday (20/09), Master of Law Faculty of Law UGM Jakarta Campus, in collaboration with Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) held an in-person Legal Guidance and Counseling Workshop that located in Auditorium in BAPETEN’s Building B. This event was aimed to give a contribution from Faculty of Law UGM to the community, especially to the professionals in BAPETEN in terms of legal reasoning & legal drafting skills improvement.
This workshop was attended by the Head of the Training and Education Center, Structural Officials, and Functional Officers from 13 work units of BAPETEN participated in the event. The main objective of this activity is to strengthen participants' understanding of regulatory drafting, such as BAPETEN Head Regulations and Circular Letters issued by the Head of BAPETEN, to ensure compliance with legal norms and to minimize legal risks that may arise from such regulations.
The workshop was started at 08.30 with the opening remarks from Dr. Agustina Merdekawati, S.H., LL.M., as the moderator and the Academic Program Secretary. The first session was delivered by Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M. that discussed about the export and import law and the legal supervision of the nuclear contamination on an export goods. Dr. Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, S.H., LL.M. the continued with the material on the investigation method in marine area and the investigator’s authority in nuclear occurrence.
On the second session, Prof. Dr. Agustinus Supriyanto, S.H., M.Si., discussed about Liability and the international law instrument formulation regarding the Convention on Supplementary Compensation (CSC). Dr. Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL.M. explained the material regarding Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) and the implementation in the ratification of international law instruments related to Nuclear Liability.
The participants were actively participated in the study case and the simulation of RIA application and CSC ratification that is relevant with the development of nuclear regulation in Indonesia. This event was beneficial in improving the legal knowledge and regulation skill for Civil Workers in BAPETEN environment.
