Tuesday (26/02/2024), Faculty of Law UGM and DIY High Prosecutor’s Office held the Suluh Praja legal counselling in Jatirego Subdisctrict, Kulon Progo. This event aimed to enhance the legal comprehensive knowledge of the people of the village, especially regarding land and village’s asset. The opening speech and presentation from the speakers, including the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office and Prof. Nurhasan Ismail, also completes this activity.
During this counselling, Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office also provided the socialization on the legal counseling process service for the people through the website of Suluh Praja (sisuluhpraja.go.id) in completing their Datun Suluh Praja program. Next presentation was from Prof Nurhasan Ismail that completely discussed on the land and village asset, along with Dr. Dinarjati Eka Puspitasari that highlighted on the village treasury land.
During the QnA session, the participants were giving questions on the village treasury land and kasultanan land, and the utilization by the people. The answers that were given by the speakers, including the from the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, were enlightening them on the importance of following the applicable rules and regulations on the land management. The speakers also emphasized that the illegal kasultanan land transfer, both for personal and public interests, are not allowed according to the applicable regulations.
The discussion in this counselling mirroring the commitment to support the implementation of theSustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through this counselling, the 11th point on Sustainable Cities and Community has been implemented by the education for the people on the importance of sustainable land management. Additionally, the 16th point on the Justice also implemented in ensuring the existence of equal legal protection for the whole individuals.
“Suluh Praja Legal Counseling in Jatirejo Subdistrict becoming the important step in enhancing the inclusive legal knowledge and sustainable for the people of the village. Hopefully, this counseling could help the people to manage their land wisely according to the applicable regulation,” said the representative of the Faculty of Law UGM.
By this collaboration between Faculty of Law UGM with Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, expected that these counselling would be continuously carried out to provide a wider knowledge for the people on their rights and responsibilities.
