On Tuesday, (25/2/2025), the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the High Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), successfully conducted the “Suluh Praja” Legal Education program at the Nglipar Village Office, Nglipar District, Gunungkidul Regency, DIY Province. This legal education session aimed to provide insights and legal knowledge to the participants, consisting of village officials and the local community, on common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja focused on the theme “Online Gambling, Online Loans, and Licensing for Individual Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises”. This time, Suluh Praja is expected to provide legal insight related to the risks associated with online loans and online gambling, so that the public can better understand online loans and gambling that are rampant in society. In addition, the public is also expected to be introduced to various forms of micro and small businesses and the importance of having a Business Identification Number.
The session commenced at 9:30 AM WIB with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. This was followed by a welcoming speech from the Head of Nglipar Village, Mr. Samsuri, S, Pd. Next, the Assistant for Civil and State Administrative Affairs, Mr. Nurhadi, S.H., M.H., along with her team from the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office, delivered an introductory speech and presented an overview of the roles and functions of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia in civil and state administrative matters.
The session continued with a presentation of material by a resource lecturer from the Faculty of Law UGM, namely Mrs. Annisa Syaufika Yustisia Ridwan, S.H., M.H. as a Lecturer in Civil Law, UGM Faculty of Law who presented the theme "Online Gambling and Online Loans" to provide insight into the risks and dangers of online loans and online gambling. The session continued with a presentation of material by another resource lecturer from the Faculty of Law UGM, namely Mrs. Rizky Septiana Widyaningtyas, S.H., M.Kn. as a Lecturer in State Administrative Law, Faculty of Law UGM who presented the theme "Licensing for Individual Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises" to provide insight and introduce the participants of the counseling regarding the various types of micro and small businesses and the importance of having a Business Identification Number. All speakers from the DIY High Prosecutor's Office and lecturers from the UGM Faculty of Law actively discussed the question and answer session with the village officials.
All speakers, including representatives from the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office and UGM’s Faculty of Law, actively engaged in a discussion session with village officials. The material was presented interactively and engagingly, facilitating a productive dialogue. The lecturers responded to participants' questions with clear and practical solutions. This legal education program is expected to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 8, which focuses on decent work and economic growth. It also aligns with SDG No. 16, which aims to foster inclusive and peaceful societies by strengthening local governance, and SDG No. 17, which emphasizes partnerships to achieve broader development goals.
