UGM Law School’s Community Service Program Provides Donations and Health Services in Tarempa

On Monday (May 19, 2025), the UGM Faculty of Law, through its Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with doctorSHARE (Yayasan Dokter Peduli) and the Anambas Islands Regency Government, launched a Free Medical Service initiative at the Anambas Islands Regency Government Port in Tarempa, Siantan District, Riau Islands Province. This activity is a continuation of a community service program carried out in island regions where access to health services remains limited. Synergy between educational institutions, humanitarian organizations, and local governments is the primary driving force in reaching coastal communities and the outermost islands.

Previously, a similar event was held at Berhala Port, Letung Village, Jemaja Subdistrict, from April 28 to May 1, 2025, and successfully served more than 600 patients. The Free Medical Service Program by doctorSHARE was held again from May 19 to 23, 2025, to reach more residents. The UGM Faculty of Law PKBH team participating in this event included Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL. M., M.A., Dr. Richo Andi Wibowo, S.H., LL.M., Dr. Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M., as well as two PKBH part-timers, Adetia Surya Maulana and Ruth Jessieca Margareth Togar.

The first day of the Community Service activities in the Anambas Islands Regency began at 2:00 p.m. The event started with the singing of the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” a joint prayer, and an activity report by Dedi Pranata Tampubolon, Coordinator of the Dr. Lie Dharmawan II Floating Hospital. Next, the event continued with the handover of medical equipment donations by the UGM Faculty of Law, consisting of blood glucose meters, fetal dopplers, and digital baby scales for Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), Health Posts (Pustu), and Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu) in the Tarempa area, Anambas Islands Regency.

Opening remarks at the event were delivered by several prominent figures. Tutuk Utomo Nuradhy, as Chair of the Board and Executive Director of doctorSHARE, expressed appreciation for the established collaboration. Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems at the Faculty of Law, UGM, also shared his hopes for the program’s continuity. Additionally, Joni Erwoko from Star Energy (Kakap) Ltd. was present to offer his support, and the event was officially opened by Aneng, the Regent of the Anambas Islands Regency. All parties expressed their deep appreciation for the successful implementation of this Community Service activity.

At 3:15 p.m. local time, the event concluded with a visit and inspection of the Free Medical Services at the Dr. Lie Dharmawan II Hospital Ship. This visit and inspection of the Free Medical Services involved going to and observing firsthand the Dr. Lie Dharmawan II Hospital Ship. During the Free Medical Service visit, several residents of Anambas Islands Regency were also seen using the Free Medical Service facilities. This event was also attended by a number of important figures, including the Regent, the Chair of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Regional Officials, the District Police Chief, the Commander of the Indonesian Navy Base, the Health Office, and Medical Staff in Tarempa, Anambas Islands Regency.

Kegiatan Pelayanan Medis Gratis dan Donasi Alat-Alat Kesehatan ini diharapkan mampu untuk mendukung tujuan dalam Sustainable Development Goals atau SDGs, terutama pada poin ke-3 mengenai kesehatan, point ke-10 untuk mengurangi ketimpangan pelayanan kesehatan di DTPK dan daerah 3T di Indonesia, dan juga poin ke-17 untuk menguatkan hubungan kemitraan demi mencapai tujuan yang lebih baik.
