To strengthen camaraderie and enhance the skills of new students, the Notary Public Student Association (KMN) of the UGM Faculty of Law held a Notary Public Day Out Gathering & Upgrading event. The event took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Waroeng Belik in Ngaglik, Sleman. This event, which combined a gathering and professional development session, was attended by the 2025 cohort of new students in UGM’s Master’s Program in Notarial Studies.
The event opened with remarks from Anggita Mustika Dewi, S.H., M.Kn., Assistant Chair of the Master’s Program in Notarial Studies, who emphasized the importance of collaboration, communication, and integrity as core values for aspiring notaries. The next remarks were delivered by the General Chair of KMN UGM, Dimas Rofiq Rahmawan, S.H., who expressed hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to foster camaraderie and strengthen solidarity among students.
Moving into the main session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB, the event continued with a talk show titled “Building Effective Communication as an Essential Skill for Aspiring Notaries,” featuring Notary/PPAT Justicia Eka Puspita, S.H., M.Kn., as the guest speaker. During the talk show, Ms. Justicia emphasized that effective communication skills are an essential competency for prospective notaries, not only to maintain client trust but also to uphold professionalism and ethics in notarial practice.
The session was lively and interactive, featuring various questions and discussions from the participants. After a break and lunch, the event continued with group games and team-building activities that strengthened cooperation and a sense of camaraderie among the students. The event then concluded with the presentation of awards to the top participants as a token of appreciation for their active participation throughout the event.
This event also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Through the Notariat’s Day Out Gathering & Upgrading event, the UGM Faculty of Law not only promotes the enhancement of students’ academic capabilities but also strengthens the development of professional character marked by integrity and ethics. Strengthening soft skills such as effective communication, leadership, and teamwork is a concrete step in preparing future notaries who can serve as fair and trustworthy upholders of the law. Furthermore, this event reflects the spirit of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among academics, practitioners, and students in building an inclusive and sustainable learning environment.
