Grand Finale of the 70th Anniversary Celebration of UGM Faculty of Law

The series of celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada reached its peak on Saturday (20/2) evening. More than 600 alumni from various generations attended the special occasion to celebrate together. Among the distinguished guests was Ganjar Pranowo, Chairman of the UGM Alumni Family Association (KAGAMA) for the 2014–2019 period and Governor of Central Java at the time. Students also actively participated in the celebration, which featured Katon Bagaskara as the guest star. Various dinner options were provided, including traditional angkringan food stalls that further strengthened the nostalgic atmosphere of the evening.

Dr. Albertina Ho, S.H., M.H., an alumna from the class of 1979, shared some of her memories from her student days during her remarks. The Chief Judge of the Bekasi District Court also conveyed an important message: “Let us continue to uphold the good name of our alma mater, the Faculty of Law UGM.” In addition to reconnecting with old friends, several alumni also entertained the audience with musical performances. The evening became even more vibrant when fashion show models walked down the catwalk showcasing various batik collections presented by alumni and lecturers. Among those participating were legal consultant Triweka Rinanti, S.H., M.H., and Notary & Land Deed Official (PPAT) Yualita Widyadhari, CIIB., S.H., M.Kn.

A total of 80 students who had brought pride to the Faculty at national and international levels throughout 2015 received awards during the event. Some achievements were individual accomplishments, such as Putika Nuralida Herdin, recipient of the Best Pre-Conference Paper award at the ALSA International Annual Forum in Hong Kong. Others were team achievements, including the team that won First Place in the National Moot Court Competition Conservation Trophy II.

Following the award presentation, alumni of the Faculty of Law UGM working in the field of law enforcement, led by the Chairman of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), Dr. Otto Hasibuan, S.H., M.M., delivered a declaration. The alumni expressed their commitment to strengthening the alumni network. They also encouraged the Faculty to intensify coordination in supporting graduates after completing their studies to maintain meaningful interaction among alumni. The Student Aspiration Night and Alumni Gathering served as an important starting point for fostering stronger alumni engagement.
